Gouldings Freestyle Martial Arts profile pages go live

We finally got what we needed to start uploading the fighter profiles for Gouldings Martial Arts, we kicked things off with the Senior instructors pages we are still however in need of some upto date images!
Next we'll be uploading the blackbelts and also the MMA fighters profiles but thats probably some time away!! We also posted some video's of Jamie Goulding on the website with more to follow, check out Jamie's kick flip, don't try it at home kids!

Style Seating on their way to the top!

Over the last 2 months we have been working with Style Seating improving their positions in Google's natural listings as well as tweaking their existing PPC campaign. One of the key phrases we have been working on is stacking chairs which has jumped over 2 pages and now sits firmly at the #2 spot in the SERP's, we're quietly confident that we'll push our way through, upto the #1 position in the next couple of weeks.

this morning I took a great disliking to our existing logo, I don't know why or what I didn't like about it I just knew it had to go....

so it did, I spent the morning playing around in Adobe CS3, finally chose a version I liked and have now updated our new re-designed logo on all our online sites, we think it looks better let us know what you think.

Vines Driving School...

Last week we started work on Vines driving school, the website is created using online editor moonfruit and is self built, the website is pleaseing to the eye, easy to navigate through and has all the relavent information on you would expect to find on a driving school's website, just one problem it doesn't rank! Thats where we come in, so we set to work rewriting page title's and content on some of the sites pages, gained a few quality links, and within 1 week the 2 targeted search terms we started working on shot straight up in the SERP's

still a long way to go, but it just shows how fast the effects of good SEO can start to show!

the great Google adwords con of 2010...

Throughout 2010 many clients have commented on phone calls they have received from various website marketing companies offering to put their website in "the champagne box" on page one of the search results with unlimited clicks for the small sum of £99 or £129 per month!  Whats more, a large number of these so called " marketing companies " claim to actually work for Google and use as their opening line "hi I'm calling on behalf of Google". What a good deal this is I thought, in fact this is an unbelievable deal so I investigated further.

So how do they give you unlimited clicks throughout the month for such a small fee? It's quite simple really, they use very low quality long tailed key phrases/words and narrow the AdWords display area down to a very small radius, say a 20 - 30 mile radius of your address, if your lucky! As an example : plumbers in Manchester who fixes boilers, its not really a searchable term, a better term would simply be plumber in Manchester, however this would cost around £1.00 per click and the long tail version would be around £0.10 per click, in addition to this one company in particular was not even offering unlimited clicks as described on the phone, instead the small print stated unlimited impressions, so do remember check the small print. Before you use any SEO or web marketing company, check the web for reviews and also ask to see their portfolio.
